2013.12.06 Hello Kitty was chosen as the mascot of the Maokong Gondola from December 6, 2013 to May 5, 2015. All cabins and stations were decorated with colorful Hello Kitty designs.

2013.03.06 The "double grip crawler spreader" researched and developed by the Maokong Gondola to replace helicopters in lifting cable wheels cut costs by nearly ten million. It received the "Honorary Award for Innovative Economic and Scientific Developments" from the Executive Yuan in March 2013, as well as first place of the "Innovation Award" of the Taipei City Government.
2012.07.23 Free charging stations were installed across all stations for passenger use.
2012.04.02 The excellent availability rate of the Maokong Gondola has been confirmed in a letter from the President of POMA on April 2, 2012, which read: "We are pleased to confirm that you have reached the best availability rate recorded to date on any cable car system, reaching an average of 99.90% over the past two years 2010/2011, especially taking into consideration the highly complicated installation consisting of five successive sections which is unique in the world."
2011.12.28 To enable passengers to arrange their trips more conveniently and save time queuing, the Maokong Gondola Online Booking System is formally launched.
2011.08.20 Maokong Gondola's total transport capacity reached a new milestone, 10 million visits. To express our appreciation to the public for its support, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation held a series of activities from August 23 to 26.
2011.04.04 Taipei City Government celebrates Children's Day. Elementary school children from around the country are eligible to ride on the Maokong Gondola for free.
2010.12.31 Maokong Gondola's total transport capacity reached 8 million passengers. To cope with the Taipei's New Year's Eve Party - "Countdown to 2011", Maokong Gondola extended its operating hours to 1am, January 1, 2011 for the first time.
2010.11.02 The new version of the Crystal Cabin - "Eyes of Maokong Gondola" was launched on November 2. Due to the more-than 200 kilogram transparent floor of the Crystal Cabin, its maximum capacity is 5 passengers.
2010.03.30 The Maokong Gondola resumed normal operations.
2008.10.01 The heavy rains brought by Typhoon Jangmi caused a landslide on the mountain slope near the Maokong Gondola Tower No. 16 on September 28, 2008. Considering local residents' worries, the Taipei City Government announced on October 1, 2008, that the Maokong Gondola would temporarily suspend service and carry out further assessment; based on the suggestions made by construction, environment protection, and geological associations, it was decided that Tower No. 16 should be moved. The total transport capacity was over 6.17 million passengers as of October 1, 2008.
2008.07.01 Maokong Gondola's total transport capacity reached 5 million passengers. To celebrate this achievement and Maokong Gondola's first anniversary, TRTC hosted a series of celebration events on July 4, 2008.
2007.12.09 Maokong Gondola's total transport capacity reached 2 million passengers.

2007.07.04 The Maokong Gondola began operation. The gondola system, built by the French company POMA, is 4.03 km long and has 4 passenger stations and 2 ancillary stations where the gondola changes direction.
2007.06.14 The construction of the Maokong Gondola System was finished, and the Taipei City Government completed safety inspection.
2007.01.11 TRTC was commissioned by the Taipei City Government to operate the Maokong Gondola, the first gondola system in the Taipei City.
